AMPLIMEXON AmpliMed phase change II

Tucson, Arizona, March 14, 2005 - Amplimed announced on 3 March 2005 that it has begun patient enrollment into a multicenter US phase I/II trial of imexon injection (AMPLIMEXON) in combination with gemcitabine (GEMZAR) as a therapy for previously untreated advanced pancreatic adenocarcinoma. The trial will determine the maximum tolerated doses of imexon, a derivative of 2-cyanoaziridine, and its toxicity in this combination therapy. Tumor response and clinical benefit data will be collected for comparison with historical control data to design future clinical trials. AmpliMed plans to initiate several phase I/II trials to assess the safety and efficacy of imexon in combination with other anticancer drugs, in various patient populations.
